A soldier on his knee tells the history of the military. In my research for the sculpture I discovered that to date, there has been only three styles of helmets used since World War One. I have placed each of them on the ground beside the figure. The flag that is shown has thirteen stars going back to the Revolutionary War. It has a slight tear, showing that it has been challenged many times in many parts of the world.
This sculpture is a bronze maquette of a proposed “Thank Your for Your Service” monumental sculpture that can be created as a public sculpture.
